Who am I?
After a ten-year successful consultancy career, I took time out to focus on raising our young children. During this period of reflection, I decided to change my career and pursue my long-standing ambition to support children with mental health issues.
I completed a Diploma in Transformational Coaching with The Animas Centre for Coaching (accredited by the ICF and ACC). I began coaching full-time in 2020, incorporating several techniques into my sessions, from positive psychology, cognitive behavioural coaching, neurolinguistics, and transactional analysis. I coach adolescents in many different areas to help them build resilience, confidence, and effective communication skills and learn how to manage issues such as low mood, stress, anxiety, and social issues.
My ambition has always been to help support the most vulnerable with mental health issues. I am studying an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health to gain accreditation as a psychologist. Learning neuroscience concepts has given me a much deeper insight into the brain and how it can help us better understand mental health disorders. I enjoy reading the latest research studies to stay up to date with changes as technological advances are made, and new novel treatments and interventions are discovered.
I volunteer as a crisis support-line helper for the charity Shout UK in my spare time. The helpline is to support those who are in the most vulnerable, critical state and I believe my varied experience makes me a well-rounded coach for your child. Above all this, I am married, a mother to three beautiful children, and a German Shepherd dog. As a parent, I know only too well about the demands and challenges of raising children, and this empathy is helpful when working with parents.
